We are often called in to work on projects with other agencies to perform the website development function. We have worked with a few over the years and each has been a great experience for us. Nativ Design is one with whom we have worked on quite a few projects together. Nativ were approached by Newcastle University Student Association to pitch for the development of the resurrected famous OPUS Magazine. Lucky for us they were successful and brought us in on the development.
Having fond memories of student media from our own days at University, this was an exciting project to be involved in. Indeed, one of our team was a former contributor back in the day, and we have a lot of friends who have been editors, contributors, and readers of OPUS back in the day.
We really enjoyed working with Barrie from NUSA who has the passion and drive to make #opuscomeback successful, and there is already some superb submissions gracing the hard copy, and now, the online version comeback edition.
We wanted the site to place emphasis on a number of content areas & navigability, which is why we focused design on the clear categorization. We wanted to make a feature out of the authors and have ensured that they have dedicated content on their bios. We also wanted to encourage submissions from the students in a user-friendly and easy to manage way. The adage Content is King is no more relevant than in an article driven media site.
The look & feel is all in keeping with the marketing work being done by the NUSA team which works well on the website to give it a distinctive and memorable presentation.
