Towards the end of last year, Jessica Urquhart became our full-time Marketing Officer. This move came a little earlier than anticipated but was driven by the amount of value Jess was adding to our own Marketing, and our Marketing service to our clients. Jess is eager for the challenge in managing a full-time position in a career that she enjoys, while maintaining her University studies in Business Management, Leadership and Marketing.
Jess came on board with the HyperWeb team originally in September 2019 in a part time role whilst completing her studies at the University of Newcastle. The primary purpose of the role was to assist in the increasing workload of Digital Marketing. Her role involves assisting with social and digital media marketing, Search Engine Optimisation, AdWord Management and content strategy.
In announcing that Jess is now a full-time member of the HyperWeb team, let’s get to know a few things about Jess:
What is the most inspiring part of your job?
Since working at HyperWeb I have already met many clients each having such different marketing requirements specifically tailored to their needs. What is inspiring the most is being able to work with these clients and see their business grow and the engagement they receive through the digital marketing experience. As I am currently finishing my degree, it is also inspiring to see and feel progress both in and outside of the office space in my marketing skills/knowledge. I am learning something new everyday with the guidance of Brendan. It has allowed me to see what I can achieve and how I can use these tools to accomplish not only personal goals but the marketing goals in place for HyperWeb and our clients.
Most of my days start with CrossfFit or some form of physical exercise as it gets the endorphins flowing for the workday ahead. I also enjoy reading books to build my skills and for pleasure. On weekends I appreciate being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
What are 3 words you use to describe HyperWeb?
Rewarding, collaborative and engaging.
My go to music genre is usually alternative/indie artists and bands. My favourite author is Matthew Reilly thanks to the action that each of his books deliver. In my down time you’ll find me enjoying a coffee with a book or on the beach relaxing.
If you could learn anything, what would it be?
I’d love to learn how to surf.
When creating a website, what helps your creativity?
As most know marketing is diverse and changing on a daily basis. To unleash my creativeness you’ll find me reading books that offer different marketing perspectives and how best to market to your target audience. I also like to keep up to date with the latest trends across social media channels to trial and follow channels related to our client’s industries, enabling me to capitalise on these and produce a strategic marketing plan that is innovative. Combining these small habits has allowed me to come up with fresh solutions and remain inspired to deliver a marketing plan that is clear and targeted to your business success.
