Project Description
We have had a great relationship with the SUAC since 2010 assisting the club develop their website. SUAC is Australia’s oldest Athletics Club with a long history of international and Olympic success. In recent years it has focussed on bringing recreational athletes and University students into the club.
This year SUAC came to us with a dual objective. The first being to update the look and feel, and content management functionality, of their SUAC.org. website. The second being to establish an online resource for a new event they have established, RUNSYDUNI. RUNSYDUNI is a free 4km fun run with 20 free pre-race training sessions on the grounds of the University of Sydney.
We proposed to provide a WordPress Multisite solution to allow the club’s content managers to maintain both sites within the same back-end admin. Due to communication and event deadlines the RUNSYDUNI site took priority, despite being a subsite of the multisite. We were able to keep their existing SUAC site live while we developed the RUNSYDUNI site.
A modern look and feel was applied to the RUNSYDUNI site using the unique brand of the fun run, which is independent of the club but has similar colour references. The website is an information resource with a Gravity Forms registration interface that populated their existing registration management using Google Sheets.
The main SUAC site followed with a dramatic transformation into a 2020 look and feel. The new version of the site also features a much more user friendly and mobile responsive method of updating club records and feature athletes.
Feedback from the club has been tremendously encouraging and our work has already led to more involvement with other sports organisations at Sydney University.
We thank SUAC for their long-term and ongoing support and look forward to it continuing.
