Supporting Zara’s House

News

In 2017, we began our support of Zara’s House with sponsored website development and hosting. Zara’s House provides literacy, language, peer support, and employment assistance to refugee women in our community. We chose to support this organisation and their activities due to their strong aims and the energy and passion of the people behind it, led by 2017 Newcastle Citizen of the Year Sister Di Santleben.

Our support included the provision of advice on their online presence and the development of a Zara’s House website that is both clear in it’s purpose and simple in it’s user experience. It pleases us that we were able to assist Zara’s House and their parent organisation Refugees and Partners with their clarity of message. They now have an online presence from which to market themselves and leverage for events and fundraising.

Zara’s House is now facing another challenge. They are looking for a new home from which to provide their important services. They have been using a derelict church on a hire basis, but it is now for sale. They are looking to raise $100,000 in order to purchase this premises as an accessible base for their work and the refugee community.

To help Zara’s House achieve their target, please visit their Chuffed page and make a tax deductible donation. Any amount helps.
